WAYPOINT is an independent video game creative agency. We are a tight-knit and growing group, specialized in creating top-tier marketing assets for mid-sized to AAA clients such as Mattel, Disney, Warner bros, Machine Zone, Square Enix, Ubisoft and more. We are a multi-million dollar provider of graphic design, video and collectible item projects. We are looking for an extremely bright Business Development Director that loves the idea of growing a business through partner relationships. This position is responsible for driving the development of a robust partner ecosystem as well as producing great creative. Do you want to be entrepreneurial and part of an exciting company focused on video game marketing? You don’t mind rolling your sleeves up and doing whatever it takes to make it? You like to take calculated risks and push things forward? This one is for you. We only consider candidates with prior video game marketing experience.

Minimum Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in a video game marketing position (brand manager, product manager, PR, Marketing director, etc)
  • Demonstrated ability to sell a product or service
  • A degree
  • Traits: extroverted, persistent, bent on success, the love of a job well done
  • Knowledge and passion for video games and the entertainment industry
  • Strong computer and “internet” skills. You know what Slack is.
  • Great communication skills with the ability to take and give constructive feedback

Salary: $70k + 4% comm. on gross no cap = 150k+; Other Pay: Merit and Annual Increases

Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify leads
  • Transform leads into contacts
  • Present WAYPOINT’s services to leads and contacts
  • Face to face meetings with interested prospects
  • Conference calls with interested prospects and the Creative Director
  • Transform discussions with contacts into requests for estimates by contacts
  • Transform estimates into signed contracts for service work
  • Regularly add to and update a list of leads and contacts (CRM database) with new leads or updates at every available opportunity
  • Propose a plan of networking activities. e.g. E3 party
  • Respect the company policy of turning around 90% of all estimates within 24 hours
  • Best efforts to achieve sales targets set together with the VP
  • Invoicing
  • Own customer projects from start to finish
