To show case the meticulously detailed and all around awesome Scorpion figurine, I used a Canon 7D(mk II) to do a live action shoot of the item itself. Utilizing various angles, trying out alternative lighting styles, and tampering with multiple settings, I captured footage which made sure the resonant detail of the figurine be fully emphasized.
On the Post Production front, I selected the the best, most suitable shots and fired up After Effects . Upon where I threw the shots in and stringed them together using my misty embers motion graphics environment which I created. The style of the mist and the embers in the dark environment proved to be a nice way in which to bring out the detail of Scorpion, whilst also embodying the dark Netherealm environment where Scorpion resides.
To fully emphasize how vividly accurate the figurine looked. The fourth-wall breaking intro of Scorpion’s 3D animation spear coming at the screen then thudding into opening shot, served as a nice way to contrast between the actual in-game look of Scorpion and the carved figurine.
