Our mission was clear: to create a premium influencer and press kit that would capture the essence of Blizzard’s new mobile title, Warcraft Rumble. The game focuses on collecting minis and battling them on a mystical game cabinet. It is an action-strategy title with fantasy elements, loveable hero characters, and fantastical environments. The challenge was to not just meet but exceed the expectations of influencers, with a focus on premium video game packaging design.
We worked to craft an experience that resonated with the game's epic narrative and captivating gameplay, while also being fun to unbox and share with fans across media channels.
As we delved into the project, our initial brainstorming sessions ignited a myriad of ideas. We explored concepts that ranged from showcasing key characters to bringing iconic in-game moments to life. However, one concept stood out among the rest, which we ultimately brought to life with our skilled team of designers, artists, painters, engineers, and producers.
Our team's deep knowledge of World of Warcraft and its expansive universe provided a solid foundation for our approach. We understood the game's rich lore, dynamic characters, and the essence of Warcraft Rumble. This familiarity allowed us to align our creative vision with the core elements that make World of Warcraft a gaming phenomenon.
With the theme "Get Ready for Battle" selected, our approach focused on creating a kit that would transport influencers into the heart of Warcraft Rumble. We tailored every element to resonate with the games’ branding and lore, even crafting a real wax stamp sealed by the game character who leaves a personal note for the recipient. Our target audience was not just passive observers, but active participants in the journey, preparing for an epic battle within a new game experience.
The chosen concept manifested into detailed mockups and 3D renderings that showcased our vision in high-quality and intricate detail. The "Get Ready for Battle" kit included a Polymorph mini statue with illuminating effects (based on one of the games’ hero minis), a wax-sealed note that added an element of mystery, a laser-engraved wireless phone charger for modern convenience, a weapon charm keychain based on iconic items from characters, and a branded t-shirt from Blizzard. All these elements are packed into an incredible display box with an acrylic enclosure to preview the statue, complete with die-cut design and UV spot varnish.

Bringing Dreams to Reality With the concept approved, we transitioned into the production phase. Every item in the kit, from the hand-painted, light up Polymorph mini statue to the metal-plated keychain, underwent a meticulous manufacturing process. Prototypes and samples were produced to ensure they met our exact standards and were refined throughout the process.
Our commitment to excellence extended to quality assurance at every stage of production. The final items were assembled with care, and each component underwent thorough inspection before sending to key targets and media personalities. To protect against any shipping mishaps, a percentage of overages was produced. The fulfillment process, from individual master cartons to global shipping, was orchestrated with our in-house team who followed up to ensure delivery around the globe.
In the end, the Warcraft Rumble influencer kit morphed into one of our favorite kits to date, allowing us to experiment with more complex packaging designs than our previous kits and letting us flex our design muscle on an all-new IP.
The final product was a blend of creativity and functionality, providing influencers and press with tangible artifacts they can use every day. The illuminated Polymorph mini statue, the wax-sealed note, the wireless phone charger, the weapon charm keychain, and the branded t-shirt collectively formed an ensemble that was well-received by fans who were genuinely surprised by the drop.
In crafting this premium kit, Waypoint showcased its expertise in creating high-end gaming collectibles and demonstrated a commitment to elevating the gaming experience beyond the digital realm.
