MISSION
Do you want to be part of an exciting company focused on the video game industry? We are looking for an experienced Lead 2D VFX Artist to oversee and create stunning visual effects that elevate the storytelling and visual impact of our projects. In this role, you will guide the VFX team, define artistic direction, and ensure all visual effects are delivered at the highest quality.
YOU
- Lead the VFX team to design and deliver high-quality 2D visual effects, including explosions, elemental effects, magical abilities, and environmental enhancements.
- Collaborate with creative directors, animators, and designers to establish the visual style and integrate VFX seamlessly into projects.
- Review and provide feedback on VFX assets to ensure they align with the artistic vision, technical requirements, and performance standards.
- Develop concept sketches, animatics, and prototypes to visualize effects before production.
- Optimize visual effects for various platforms, ensuring performance and quality across media or game engines.
- Establish and maintain VFX workflows and pipelines, ensuring efficient production and delivery.
- Mentor and train junior VFX artists, fostering a culture of growth and creativity.
- Research and implement new techniques, tools, and trends to keep the team at the forefront of the industry.
- Take a hands-on approach to creating complex or critical VFX assets when needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of professional experience in 2D visual effects, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in industry-standard tools like Adobe After Effects or equivalent software.
- A strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing a variety of high-quality 2D visual effects, from magical effects to environmental enhancements.
- Excellent understanding of motion, timing, composition, and color theory as they apply to visual effects.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with experience managing VFX teams and workflows.
- Familiarity with optimization techniques for VFX in games, animation, or promotional media.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Knowledge of game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine is a plus.
- Good English (written and spoken).
