Final Fantasy XIV Online is Square Enix’s blockbuster MMORPG which requires constant online marketing. Our Los Angeles video game marketing agency was was tasked with the 2D animation of their character job key art. We used After Effects and Photoshop to apply rigging to the artworks and video loop animations for animated web banners and social media videos. Each character key art animation loop was supplemented with particles and additional effects to further convey the aesthetic of each character class found in the online game. The animations were then reformatted into aspect ratios usable for a variety of web banner formats. Callouts with on-brand text treatments were also added as call to actions.
